about

I wrote the main body of Belly of the Whale on the Bansitar which is a cross between a 5 string banjo and a sitar made by UK luthier, Helmut Rheingans. I programmed the tabla track to match the tone of the Bansitar. I decided to double the Bansitar part with dobro and then, adding lapsteel, had a three way conversation in the solo section. Jon Grier wove all these elements together masterfully at his console in Grierlandia.
